How to Use Print-type Widgets Print-type Widgets are used to print documents on any device that supports App2Me*. Let's look at App2Me Print to learn how they are used.

App2Me Print, and other print-type widgets, allow you to quickly print files on any App2Me supported device.

To use App2Me Print or other App2Me Widgets, App2Me Manager and other software must be installed.
- Please visit the Download page if you need App2Me Manager.

Please uninstall the PCL6 Driver for Universal Print if it is already installed on the client PC.
The readme for the PCL6 Driver for Universal Print includes details on how to uninstall the driver.
App2Me Print-type widgets use the PCL6 Driver for Universal Print, and uninstallation of the pre-existing driver is required in order to avoid version conflicts.

Job List Button

Job List Button Click this button to open and close the job list. The button’s color changes based on whether or not any jobs are registered:

No jobs are registered: Black

Jobs are registered: Orange

Job List This scrollable menu lists all jobs registered with App2Me Print. The job list is only viewable when the widget is not docked. Up to 10 jobs can be registered at once.

Using App2Me Print

App2Me Print only requires two easy steps: first you register a job with App2Me Print and then simply go to any App2Me-ready device to print.

Make sure that App2Me Print is running.

As long as the widget is running it does not matter if it is docked or undocked.
Open the file you want to print using App2Me Print.

Open the “Print” menu for whatever application opened.

Open the “Print” menu for whatever application opened.
Select [App2Me Print Google PCL6] as the target printer and desired print settings, then click “OK.”

The actual printer name selected during this step depends on the particular widget and printer driver used.
The job will now be registered with App2Me Print.

If App2Me Print is closed or your PC is shutdown at this time, the job list will be cleared.

If the same file is registered multiple times, each attempt will result in a separate job.

A numeric suffix will be added to all jobs after the first according to the following pattern:
- First time registered:”App2Me.doc”
- Second time registered:”App2Me.doc-1”

Checking the Job List

As described above, simply undock the widget and click the Job List button to display the job list.

Canceling a Job

Anicon will appear when you highlight a job in the job list. Click theto cancel the job.

Close App2Me Print to clear the entire job list.

Go to a device that has App2Me installed and load App2Me Provider.

You can use App2Me Manager to see devices on your network that have App2Me Provider installed.
Select the user.

Select the user. Select the icon with your user name. User names are assigned using the App2Me Manager. If you have added a password to your user name you will be asked to input it after you select your name.

If you cannot find your name...

If the App2Me Provider detects many users, your name may not appear on the initial screen. Use the arrow keys to browse through the various pages of users.

Alternatively, you may press the layout buttons and to change how many users are displayed on a single page.

Finally, the App2Me Provider may not have detected you yet. Press the refresh button to load the latest information.
Select App2Me Print.

Select App2Me Print. After selecting your user name, a list of widgets you have installed on your PC will appear. Select App2Me Print and input a password if necessary. Once you have input the password, the job list will appear.
Select the jobs you want to print.

Select the jobs you want to print. Jobs that will be printed are displayed in orange. Touching a job will change its status (print/ not print).
Press the Start button.

Press the Start button. Press the Start button to print out every job that was selected on the previous step. Once a job has printed, it will be removed from the job list.

App2Me Print allows you to set a password for additional security.

When the menu appears, select “Options...” to open the settings screen.

Password Setting If a password is input on this screen you must input the password when you attempt to print a document using App2Me Print.

Passwords up to 10 numeric characters long are supported.
Click “OK” to save the settings

Drag & Drop Printing using App2Me Print

Make sure that App2Me Print is undocked.

Make sure that App2Me Print is undocked. As long as App2Me Print is docked, drag and drop printing is not possible. If the widget is docked, please drag the widget to the desktop to undock it.
Drag the file you want to print to App2Me Print and drop it on the widget.

Drag the file you want to print to App2Me Print and drop it on the widget. The file will be added to the job list.

App2Me Print supports the following applications for drag and drop printing:

The following file formats are supported for drag and drop printing:

Drag and drop printing requires that the file’s associated application is installed locally.

When using drag and drop printing the file’s associated application may open automatically.
Go to your device and print as you would any other App2Me Print job.
